Who we are

Quarantine Parser is a free website and analysis tool operated by Cyber Experts. Contact: contact@quarantineparser.com. By using the site you accept these terms.

The service

Quarantine Parser reads macOS download-provenance artifacts (the QuarantineEventsV2 database, quarantine attributes, AppleDouble files and Gatekeeper records) in your browser and shows what they contain; it also publishes articles and a glossary. It needs no account and costs nothing. We may change, interrupt or discontinue any part of it at any time.

Results are not verdicts

Findings, decoded flags and recovered records are aids for an analyst. Apple does not document quarantine flags, and recovered records can be partial. An item with no finding is not proven harmless, and a flagged item is not proven malicious. Check important conclusions with other sources and your own expertise; decisions based on the results remain yours.

Your files, your responsibility

Only analyse data you are entitled to handle, for example on your own systems or within an engagement, employment or investigation that allows it. Download histories, URLs and mail senders are personal data: handle exports accordingly.

Acceptable use

• attack, overload or try to bypass the protections of the site, or scrape it at a volume that degrades it for others;
• use it to profile people without a lawful basis;
• present its output as coming from Cyber Experts, or suggest that we endorse your work.

Articles, glossary entries, text and design are © Cyber Experts, all rights reserved, unless stated otherwise. You may quote short passages with attribution and a link; republishing whole articles needs our permission.

The synthetic samples may be reused freely.

Apple, macOS, Safari and Gatekeeper are trademarks of Apple Inc. Tool names cited on this site belong to their owners. Quarantine Parser is independent and is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by Apple or any tool vendor.

No warranty

Quarantine Parser is provided free of charge, as it is and as available, without any warranty of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose or availability, to the extent permitted by law.

To the extent permitted by law, Cyber Experts is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, business or profit, or for decisions taken on the basis of the results. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, nor the mandatory rights of consumers.

Changes and applicable law

We may update these terms; the new version is published on this page with its date, and applies from then on. These terms are governed by French law. If a dispute cannot be settled amicably, the French courts have jurisdiction, without depriving consumers of the protection of the mandatory rules of their country of residence or of their right to bring proceedings there.
